Liverpool vs PSG Starting Lineups: Key Players and Missing Stars Announced

Woke up this morning buzzing about the Liverpool vs PSG clash tonight. Knew the starting lineups would drop soon, so grabbed my phone right after coffee – still kinda bleary-eyed, almost spilled it reaching for the thing.

First thing, opened the football app on my phone. Takes forever to load sometimes, especially on match days. Kept tapping my foot waiting. Finally saw the notification banner flash: “Liverpool vs PSG Teams In!” Clicked that sucker open.

Started scanning the Liverpool list. Okay, okay… Alisson in goal, obviously. Virgil and Konate at the back – solid. Saw Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson starting, good news. Midfield looked a bit different though. Then… hang on. Mo Salah listed. But where’s Darwin Núñez? Wasn’t starting. That surprised me. Thought he’d definitely be up front. Scrolled down, nope, just on the bench. Bit worried there.

Flipped to the PSG section. Straight away looked for their big guns. Kylian Mbappé – there he is, starting. Expected that. Ousmane Dembélé playing too. But my eyes stopped. Marco Verratti – injured? Seriously? Not in the squad at all? That’s a massive hole for them. Also, no Presnel Kimpembe either. Defence looked shaky on paper.

Quickly jotted down the key points and absences in my notebook – got coffee stains on it now, classic me:

  • Salah STARTING for Liverpool.
  • Núñez BENCHED. Wonder why? Tactics? Slight knock?
  • Mbappé and Dembélé leading PSG’s attack.
  • HUGE MISS: Verratti OUT injured! Major blow.
  • Kimpembe also not involved for PSG.

Made me think back to last season when I missed the first half of a big game stuck in an airport. Wi-Fi was crap, updates barely came through, totally screwed that experience up. Wasn’t making that mistake tonight. Double-checked the TV streaming service was ready to go.

Finished up thinking this lineup news changes things. Liverpool attack without Darwin starting feels like they might play differently. PSG without Verratti pulling strings? Their midfield could really struggle. Definitely makes the game way more interesting now. Can’t wait to see how it plays out tonight!
