So earlier I thought hey, let’s try writing one of those football match preview things people always click on. Fired up my laptop around 9 AM with half a cold coffee next to me. Figured I’d start simple: just google the head-to-head stats between Celta and Barcelona. My cat jumped on the keyboard right when I typed “Celta vs Barca”, search bar ended up saying “Celta vd Baecelona” — that’s how the morning was going.
The Messy Start
Opened like twelve tabs at once:
- Last five games – saw Barca lost two away matches already this season. Celta? Man, they tied four times in a row at home. Painful.
- Injury reports – spent twenty minutes squinting at Twitter updates from random accounts. One guy claimed Lewandowski had a cold. Another said it was just rumors. Who knows?
- My old notes app – scribbled stuff from last season like “Celta always plays Barça tough at home” next to a grocery list.
Got distracted watching highlights from 2017 when Aspas did that insane chip over Ter Stegen. Damn near dropped my phone.
The Predictions Drama
Tried to sound smart first:
“Considering Barcelona’s superior squad depth and historical dominance…”
Then I laughed out loud. Wrote “superior squad depth” while remembering they barely scraped past Almería last week. Deleted that whole paragraph.
Started over thinking like a fan:
- Reason 1: Xavi looked ready to murder someone during their last press conference. Team might play angry.
- Reason 2: That Balaídos stadium gets LOUD. Saw a video where the cameras shook during a derby.
- Reason 3: My gut. And my gut ate spicy noodles last night so maybe unreliable.
Finally Just Guessed
Checked the clock — already spent three hours. Cat knocked over the coffee mug. Keyboard sticky now. Panicked and slapped out:
“Going 2-1 Barcelona. Gavi scores first. Aspas equalizes late then Lewy shushes the crowd with a dumb tap-in off a corner. Betting people are gonna hate this prediction.”
Posted it anyway. Hit publish and immediately thought “Should’ve said 1-1”. Classic. Wonder how many replies’ll roast me tomorrow.
